Salt Wharf in Camden, Maine, is a modern waterfront restaurant and rooftop bar located in the Lyman-Morse Marina, offering seasonal dishes with fresh, local seafood and panoramic views of Camden Harbor, named for the area’s 19th-century maritime history of loading salt. It features a stylish dining room and a „boatyard chic” rooftop with handcrafted cocktails, live music, and stunning sunsets.

Position Description

This role is ideal for participants with some prior front-of-house (FOH) or customer service experience who are eager to learn all aspects of restaurant operations. Interns will rotate through key FOH functions under the guidance of the management team, gaining exposure to guest service, reservations, and overall dining room flow.

Training Focus

  • Greeting and seating guests with professionalism and warmth
  • Managing reservations and waitlists using U.S. systems
  • Learning menu knowledge and communicating offerings confidently
  • Supporting servers during service to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Handling guest inquiries and concerns with tact and care
  • Assisting with opening and closing procedures for FOH areas
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in guest-facing spaces
  •  Understanding U.S. hospitality standards and cultural expectations

Applicant Qualifications

  • Passion for hospitality and guest experience
  • Strong English communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
  •  Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred (not required)
