Morey’s Piers is a large, family-owned, 18-acre beachfront amusement park and entertainment complex located on the boardwalk in Wildwood, New Jersey. Operating since 1969, it features over 100 rides and attractions across three piers, along with two distinct,, major waterparks, making it a premier, seasonal destination for family fun, thrill rides, and classic boardwalk games.
During the program, you will immerse yourself in the fast-paced world of culinary arts, working alongside a team of passionate professionals dedicated to excellence. You will have the opportunity to interact with team members at every level – from fellow co-workers to upper management. You will contribute to real-time kitchen operations, engage in creative problem-solving, and develop a strong foundation for a successful career in the culinary field. Whether your goal is to work in fine dining, catering, or any other culinary domain, this program will equip you with the skills and confidence needed to be successful. The ideal candidate for this position should have some culinary training or kitchen experience and a strong understanding of food preparation techniques.
Experience the planning and execution of large-scale food service operations.
•Develop a deeper understanding of ingredient selection, preparation, and preservation. •Master fundamental cooking skills (grilling, sauteing, frying, etc.), knife techniques, flavor balancing, and recipe execution.
•Gain insight into kitchen workflow, time management, and team collaboration.
•Build a professional network within the culinary industry. Key Responsibilities:
•Assist in daily food preparation and cooking under the supervision of experienced chefs.
•Learn and adhere to kitchen safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
•Participate in menu planning, product/ingredient sourcing, and inventory management.
•Observe and practice advanced culinary techniques, including plating and presentation.
•Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality food service during meal periods.
•Contribute to special events, catering projects, or seasonal menu changes as assigned.
•Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation at all times.
