La Quinta Resort & Club, Curio Collection by Hilton is a historic luxury desert resort located in La Quinta, California, near Palm Springs in the Coachella Valley. Originally opened in 1926, the resort is part of the Curio Collection by Hilton and is recognized for its upscale hospitality, unique Spanish-style architecture, and exceptional guest experiences. The resort spans 45 acres and offers more than 700 guest accommodations, including casitas, suites, and villas. Amenities include multiple swimming pools, championship golf courses, tennis and pickleball facilities, a luxury spa, fitness center, and extensive meeting and event spaces.
Primary responsibilities include greeting and assisting guests, taking food and beverage orders, serving meals and beverages according to Hilton service standards, setting and clearing tables, maintaining cleanliness and organization of dining areas, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience at all times. Participants also assist with banquet and catering events, event setup and breakdown, buffet presentation, and coordination with kitchen and management teams during high-volume operations.
Interns are trained in luxury hospitality standards, point-of-sale systems, menu knowledge, food safety, responsible alcohol service, and professional communication skills. Additional responsibilities may include handling guest requests, answering questions about menus and resort amenities, supporting pool and lounge service, restocking service stations, and maintaining proper sanitation procedures.
The program provides exposure to fast-paced resort operations while helping participants strengthen customer service, teamwork, problem-solving, and intercultural communication skills. Interns work alongside experienced hospitality professionals and gain valuable experience serving domestic and international guests in a luxury resort environment focused on service excellence and professional development.
