2. Walk the Atlantic City Boardwalk
The Atlantic City Boardwalk is the longest of its kind, and one of the world’s most famous. Explore more than five miles of attractions on your own, or take a historic walking tour.
3. Try salt water taffy
Created on the Atlantic City Boardwalk in the late 1800s, salt water taffy is the quintessential seaside summertime candy.
4. Listen to Bruce Springsteen
No one will get you in the New Jersey groove quite like The Boss. Springsteen is a native of the state, and his early music is full of references and tributes to the Garden State.
5. Visit the Jersey Shore
Enjoy spectacular beaches, check out the amusements, or stroll the boardwalks – there’s something for everyone at the Shore.
6. Catch some big air
Keep your eyes on the sky during the 34th annual hot air balloon festival in Readington, July 24-26.
7. See a game at Yankee Stadium
Head across the Hudson River to New York City’s South Bronx to cheer on the world’s most famous sports franchise in its beautiful new stadium. Get there early to watch batting practice and score autographs. Or, catch the next rising stars at a game with one of New Jersey’s six Minor League Baseball teams.
8. Tube down the Delaware River
George Washington famously crossed the Delaware at night in the dead of winter. We think you’d prefer a relaxing float down the scenic river on a sunny, warm afternoon.
9. Watch whales off Cape May
At the southern tip of New Jersey, catch a boat and venture out to see these majestic creatures and more marine life.
10. Go to a concert
New Jersey’s proximity to major highways and other East Coast cities means its venues consistently draw the best performers and acts. Check out the PNC Bank Arts Center, the Prudential Center, or MetLife Stadium – three of the largest.
