PRESENTATION

The fantastic picture of nature was discovered and presented in many Oscar award winning movies, such as The Lord of The Rings.

New Zealand is a multicultural society and its residents are well-known for their friendly and sophisticated behavior. What is amazing in NZ is the fact that, in such a small country there can be so many cultures living together. The first maori colonists called New Zealand The Long and White Cloud Country. The residents are known all over the world under the name of Kiwi nation, because they have given this name to the Kiwi bird, after the sound this bird made: kiwi, kiwi, kiwi.

New Zealand has a population of 4 million people, and 80% of the population lives in cities. The Capital of NZ is Wellington, which is also the most southern capital of the world. With its surface of 271.000 square km, NZ resembles Japan and Great Britain.

The Internship must be directly connected to your field and level of study.Finding an appropriate work place takes between 4 and 6 weeks.

If you choose for an already existing position in the NZ Internship’s database, the process will be faster. When an internship is offered to you, you will receive the work contract completed by the employer. Your turn will be to complete and sign the Internship Agreement, which will be sent in NZ.

The minimum NZ wage is 18.16 $ per hour. Participants in the Internship program will be paid this amount (but in most cases even more). Generally, an internship implies 35-40 work hours a week (minimum 25 hours a week).

In case your paycheck will be less than 1000 $ NZ a month, you have to prove you have the necessary funds to cover your expenses in NZ. During the program, you cannot change your work place, the visa being strictly connected to this.

The moment your file is complete, Student Travel will ensure you a round-trip plane ticket. Departure date can be 7 days before the start date of the program. In case you have to change your departure date after the reservation has been made, it is possible you will have to pay a fee. Moreover, you will have to make complete medical insurance throughout the whole program. Student Travel will assist you in choosing the type of insurance which corresponds to NZ government requirements.

After you come back to Romania, you have to bring to Student Travel a photocopy of your passport. If you have photos from the period spent in NZ, which you wish to show to others or make them public, please bring them or send them through e-mail so we can add them to our photo gallery!
